Backyard Bash’s online store is now closed. Please read the letter from Backyard Bash Owner Jay Mathiesen below.

Dear Customers & Friends,
With great sadness, I must inform you of our plans to close Backyard Bash.
The cancer diagnosis that I received earlier this year, subsequent treatments and the longer term need for a less physically demanding role forced me to closely examine the business and the demands that it places on me. Although my prognosis is very good, it made me realize the importance of family and the time spent with them. I must now refocus on healing and, of course, being a more attentive grandpa, husband and father for many years to come.
I feel so lucky and honored to have been able to serve you over the last seven years. I have met many wonderful people and developed friendships that will last beyond the physical business.
Backyard Bash couldn’t have enjoyed the success that it did without the help of many people: my wife Jeanne with her love and support, Darin, Dave, my sons Tony and Michael and most importantly Beth, who was responsible for branding the business; creating our advertising; writing newsletters and web site development. Her skills are second to none. Beth was also in charge during my absence, especially during my surgery and treatments. I couldn’t ask for anyone better for that challenge, and some company is going to be very lucky to have her. I will miss her greatly.
I hope that you, our loyal customers, have enjoyed our relationship as much as I have. As we prepare to liquidate the business, please come in, enjoy some discounted pricing, and allow us one last chance to thank you for your business and friendship.
I anticipate that we will have operations wrapped up by November 30. We will outline inventory sale pricing, used equipment and demo products in the days to come via email newsletter and our web site.
Regards,
Jay
