Barbecue Classes

From baby back ribs and briskets to Thanksgiving turkeys and seafood, Backyard Bash offers a range of grilling and smoking classes. Our instructor, 8-time American Royal Grand Champ Chris Marks, began teaching classes at Backyard Bash seven years ago and now travels the country educating folks from California to New York on creating incredible Kansas City BBQ in their own backyards. Popular courses at Backyard Bash include BBQ 101: Ribs & Chicken, BBQ 102: Brisket & Butts and Competition Meats.

Backyard Bash Staff

Backyard Bash is the original creation of Jay Mathiesen. Jay brings his many years of business experience and a love for barbecue to Backyard Bash. Jay’s dedicated team will do whatever it takes to help you find the barbecue equipment and accessories you need.

Beth Politsch joined Backyard Bash in 2006 to manage the company’s advertising, marketing, email newsletter and web presence. She’s also managed to amass a mental bunker full of knowledge about grilling and smoking, which she uses when providing customer service in the store and to impress her carnivorous older brothers at family gatherings.

No need to worry that the food won’t be perfect! At Backyard Bash we rely on the expertise and experience of Wilson, our Chief Tasting Officer. Although Wilson is particularly fond of barbecue, we assure you he is willing to taste test most any food left on your picnic table.
