4 Easy Ideas 4 The 4th!
By Beth Politsch
Wanna kick back and relax this Fourth of July? Choose one of these super easy grilling options from Backyard Bash, and you’ll spend more time in your lawn chair watching fireworks, and less time tending your grill!
This was my dinner last night! I soaked an alder plank for around 3 hours in Flower of the Flames Marinade. Then I dipped each salmon fillet in the left over marinade, placed them on the plank, and spooned extra over the top. I put them on the grill until the fish flaked easily with a fork. I also tossed a couple of pesto seasoned skewers with tomatoes from our garden on at the end! See the next idea for more on the skewers. The great thing about cooking on planks is that you can be creative! Soak them in marinade, wine, etc. and use them for everything from fish and chicken to pork! A set of four re-usable alder planks is only $14.75.
It really doesn’t get any easier than this! Choose your favorite protein, whether it’s steak, chicken, shrimp, pork or fish and skewer it! You don’t even have to cube the pieces if your don’t want to. Let it sit for 10-15 minutes before grilling, and you’ll have a succulent, flavor-infused main course. Veggies are also fantastic on seasoned skewers. Backyard Bash carries Thai Coconut Lime, Pesto, Indian Mango Curry, Citrus Rosemary and Hickory BBQ in packs of 10 for just $6.99!
A few minutes and a package of Daddy Hinkles Wet Marinade and Dry Rub is all you need to get an amazing main course together quick! Just cover your meat with the wet marinade and then sprinkle it with the dry, let it set for a few minutes and toss it on the grill. Choose from flavors like Original Onion & Garlic, Southwest or Hotter ‘N 700. One packet will season up to 2 lbs of meat for $1.50, and a larger size that will season up to 25 lbs of meat for $8.49!
