Chris Marks takes Good-One for Bacon Explosion to the Big Apple!
Two words…Bacon. Explosion. If you saw the news or read the KC Star today or the New York Times Tuesday, you heard about KC BBQ competition team Burnt Finger BBQ and their sinfully amazing sausage and bacon creation, the Bacon Explosion. So what, might you ask, did this competition team, made up of Jason Day and Aaron Chronister cook their artery-clogging concoction on? The Good-One Smoker/Grill!
That’s one of the ways Backyard Bash’s award-winning BBQ instructor, Chris Marks, got involved. Not only does Chris own Three Little Pigs BBQ & Catering, a much decorated BBQ team, BBQ sauce company, and catering business, but he’s also the General Manager of Ace of Hearts BBQ Specialties, distributor of The Good-One Smoker/Grill.
Cristi Carroll of Ace of Hearts explains, “Fox Sports got a hold of the New York Times article and contacted Jason Day about appearing on the Fox and Friends morning talk show in New York on Friday to cook up a “Bacon Explosion” on the show, but of course he needed a smoker in NY. Then the stars aligned! Chris…just happened to be near Washington DC picking up the smokers that were used in the performance testing. Chris will be appearing with Jason on the Fox and Friends show Friday morning, cooking on a Good-One™ Open Range™!”
Planning to watch the Super Bowl on Sunday? Well, you might just get another glimpse of Day, with assistance from Marks, cooking up the Bacon Explosion while tailgating with the Fox Sports commentators (including John Madden)! This isn’t Marks’ first television appearance. He has previously been on The Food Network and The Travel Channel, as well as numerous other broadcast and radio events throughout the Midwest. Marks will be back in KC, teaching Smoking 102: Brisket & Butts on February 7th at Backyard Bash.
The other way Chris Marks ended up on tour with Day? Day and Chronister used Marks’ Three Little Pigs Competition BBQ Sauce in the Bacon Explosion recipe.
